Were we right in drawing pride from the success of the young blooded Indian team in SriLanka? Were we too carried away by the colors of victory in the first 4 ODIs to not notice the major drawback in this lineup - "The Lack Of Experience", which was the reason for our defeat in the 5th ODI?It also showed today in the first T20 against NZ. Young blood, the vigour, the aggressiveness and all are fine, few of the major factors needed for victory, but the most important aspect of timely thinking, sensible play and situational batting...r we lacking that?It showed to be true in today's T20. Even the experienced players like Sehwag seem to not understand the importance of being at the wicket and pillar one end so the others could score around them. If it wasn't for Suresh Raina's knock and Harbhajan's sensible batting, we were in the danger of being bowled out for 120 in 10 overs with Raina stranded at the crease out of partners. They both understood the importance of a partnership, and had the others mainly Yousuf Pathan understood the importance of this with his power and with the kind of start and runrate we were cruising at, 180 or even 190 was on the cards. But, no one had the slightest instinct to even wanna survive..everyone came in with the mindset, "Blast out or Get out"..sheer madness prevailed.
It is time we sat back and dwelled on this very vulnerable weak link and stop riding on the luck factor, majorly thrown in by Dhoni's presence as captain or we could very soon be in a situation where crores of Indians would be breathing fire down upon Dhoni's men. We are a nation of sentimental fools, and even as players we tend to be blown away by the hype. But, a professional approach and a proper gameplan are to be made for each and every game, no matter who the oposition. Hope Gary Kirsten after today's defeat understands this and brings about a regime of discipline in this fiery and winning but only lucky Indian team and turn them into a completely unbeatable lot, cos we have the potential and it needs to be tapped and molded with the right ingredients.
